This week at Fletcher Street Cottage we’ve been busy supporting our community, connecting clients with vital services and facilitating positive outcomes. Here’s a snapshot of what happened.
Highlights
- A client who accessed rehabilitation through Fletcher Street Cottage referrals returned for breakfast to share his positive experience and how well he is feeling now - a great reminder of the difference support can make.
- Art Space and Women’s Space sessions ran successfully this week, providing opportunities for creative expression, relaxation and connection.
- Our support this week included:
- Accessing bond and rental subsidies via Kickstarter referrals from We Are Mobilise
- Removalist truck support for a client who found housing
- Referrals to the mental health team for medication and care
- GP appointments facilitated for medical certificates and specialist referrals
- Liaison with housing services, Community Corrections and Public Space Liaison Officers from Byron Shire Council to ensure wraparound support for vulnerable individuals
- Referrals for AOD support and other essential services
- We met with APM Employment Service to discuss future partnerships and employment opportunities for our service users.
- Fletcher Street Cottage staff attended both the Ballina/Byron Community Engagement Meeting and the Northern Rivers Zero Action Group Meeting, strengthening collaboration with local services and stakeholders.
- Over 240 people accessed our services this week, with Thursday being our busiest day supporting over 72 people with a combination of practical, health and wrap-around care.
