25 - 28 November 2025
This week at Fletcher Street Cottage we celebrated new funding, strengthened vital partnerships and continued supporting our community through practical help and connection. Here’s what’s been happening.
Highlights
- On Thursday evening, Steve and Maddi attended the Northern Rivers Community Foundation Grants Giving Night, joining an inspiring group of local changemakers. Fletcher Street Cottage received two grants - one to improve our kitchen facilities and another to support our growing Women’s Space. We are deeply grateful to NRCF for their ongoing commitment to supporting grassroots community organisations.
- We successfully assisted a man in obtaining identification he had been without for over two years. With this crucial step completed, he has now found employment and expressed his gratitude to the Fletcher Street Cottage team for helping him navigate what can be a complex process.
- Another service user was linked with a psychologist, allowing him to build stronger support networks and focus on his mental health recovery. Having access to trusted mental health professionals can be life-changing for those doing it tough.
- It was a hot and humid week, and we supported over 240 people, providing access to the mental health team, GP, Women’s Space and domestic and family violence supports. Every week, our team works tirelessly to ensure people receive compassionate, coordinated care and the practical help they need.
