Celebrating Anniversaries, Community Support and Fundraising for Women’s Services
This week at Fletcher Street Cottage, we marked key anniversaries, continued to support our community and received generous donations. Here's a look at what’s been happening.
Highlights:
- On Tuesday, we celebrated Will Conley’s one-year anniversary of working at Fletcher Street Cottage. Will is our daily coordinator and community support worker, and we are so grateful for his dedication and commitment to supporting our community.
- On Friday, we also celebrated Sue Davis’s one-year anniversary as a Community Support Worker at Fletcher Street Cottage. Sue has made a huge impact in her role, and we appreciate all her hard work and compassion in supporting those in need. A big thank you to both Will and Sue for all they do!
- Nick, the Public Space Liaison Officer (PSLO), visited us this week, providing his invaluable expertise in supporting rough sleepers and ensuring public spaces are safe and welcoming for all.
- We received a sock donation from Mennie, and we are incredibly grateful for their contribution. Maddi, Andrew and Amanda were on hand to collect and distribute the donations to those who needed them. Thank you for supporting our community!
- We’ve been very grateful for the support of RSS (Recovery Support Services) workers from Uniting, who have been assisting our clients in applying for assistance following Ex-Cyclone Alfred. Many of our rough sleepers lost all of their belongings during the storm, and the RSS team has been essential in helping them recover.
- This week, we supported 243 people and served 198 breakfasts, ensuring that our community members received the meals and services they needed to start their day.
- We were also lucky to have The Mad Hatters Tea Party fundraiser to support our Women's Space hosted by Pippy Wardell. A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this fundraiser a success!
