Winter Warmth, Community Generosity and Holistic Support

8th – 12th June 2026

This week at Fletcher Street Cottage we were reminded of the power of community generosity, collaboration and care. Here's a snapshot of what happened.

Highlights

  • A big thank you to Ben from The Beach Restaurant, who generously donated several camping cookers to support people sleeping rough in our community. These practical items will help individuals safely prepare hot meals and drinks during the colder months, providing comfort and dignity when it is needed most.
  • Fletcher Street Cottage staff participated in group supervision with Jane Enter this week. Supervision provides an important opportunity for staff to reflect on their work, share insights and strengthen their approaches when supporting people experiencing hardship.
  • We were pleased to hear positive feedback from Phoebe at Northern NSW Health Drug and Alcohol Service, who has been building strong connections with participants since commencing her regular visits. Fletcher Street Cottage remains committed to providing a one-stop support hub where people can quickly access the services they need in a safe and trusted environment.
  • A heartfelt thank you to Amanda from Community Corrections, who donated a handmade beanie for one of our participants. As winter sets in, donations of warm clothing and essential items make a meaningful difference for people exposed to the elements and facing difficult circumstances.
  • The annual Festival of the Stone is happening this Saturday 20 June at Stone & Wood as a music fundraiser for Fletcher Street Cottage.
