Step inside the newly launched Byron Spaces Gallery and be among the first to experience this exciting addition to Byron's creative scene. Open weekdays from 10am to 4pm.
Byron Spaces Gallery is a fresh cultural venue launched as part of the Byron Community Centre's 130 Years of Community Spirit celebrations in 2025, which began as the Byron Bay School of Arts in 1895. Designed to showcase local talent and inspire conversation, this purpose-built upstairs gallery is a vibrant new space for exhibitions, installations and community connection.
Byron Spaces Gallery offers a calm, light-filled space to take in local art up close. This light-filled upstairs space offers a fresh canvas for art, ideas and community connection, with overflow artworks featured in our foyers. As the first to exhibit here, local artist and Byron Markets stallholder Valentina Di Blase of ValeVale Art sets the tone with works that spark curiosity, joy and wonder.
Artist Valentina Di Blase (ValeVale Art) brings native birdlife to life in this captivating collection. Each painting reveals hidden messages and glowing layers under torchlight, inviting you to explore both nature and self through a new creative lens. Valentina is known for her bold, colourful work inspired by nature and the magic of the natural world. Artworks are for sale through the artist.
Valentina di Blase's Unveil a Hidden World: Magic Birds of Australia solo exhibition runs through until 31st August, 2025. Open Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm (subject to Wategos Room being booked for private meetings, workshops and events). Come and browse the gallery in our foyer and upstairs room, with torches provided to reveal the glowing hidden messages in the native bird artworks.
The Byron Community Centre invites local artists to apply for a free community exhibition at the Byron Spaces Gallery. Seasonal exhibitions run for up to 3 months, with free use of the upstairs Wategos Room, foyers and optional opening events. Artists must provide their own insurance and be responsible for hanging and promoting their exhibition, with support from our team.
