Join experienced facilitator Pippy Wardell for a warm, engaging and practical workshop designed for anyone interested in supporting older people through the Byron Bay Seniors community, Seniors Club activities, or other community programs.
This introductory session explores the ageing process, the importance of social connection for seniors, and practical ways to communicate and engage respectfully with older people. Through discussion, shared learning and interactive role plays, participants will gain valuable insights and confidence to work with seniors in a meaningful and rewarding way.
Workshop topics include:
• Understanding the physiology of the ageing body
• The importance of social activities and community connection for seniors
• Effective communication techniques, including helpful do's and don'ts
• Exploring the beauty and privilege of growing older
• Interactive role plays and practical learning activities
