Event Details:
The 1000 Voices Project is a new initiative from the Ending Rough Sleeping Collaboration Byron Shire, co-funded by Byron Shire Council and a Philanthropic Foundation. It’s calling on locals from all walks of life to share their voices and shape how our community responds to homelessness.

We’re looking for Community Researchers – volunteers who can help us reach a wide range of people by having conversations, listening with care and assisting with a short community survey. Training, resources and guidance provided.

By becoming a Community Researcher, you’ll be part of a region-wide effort to ensure lived experience and community wisdom inform real, local change.

As Fletcher Street Cottage Manager Damian Farrell says: “At Fletcher Street Cottage, we see the impact of homelessness every day. This project gives our whole community a chance to speak up, be heard and help drive meaningful change.”

The survey will run from late July to the end of September, with a community report-back event in November.
